Picnic exists to fix a structural problem in programmatic: the industry has data on everything except whether the impression itself was worth buying. We built the data. We're integrating it into the systems that move budget. The shift is underway.
The Open Web has every kind of data except the one that builds trust: quality. Picnic fixes that — so every impression on the Open Web can be priced on quality, and outcomes become as defensible as walled-garden spend.
"I spent fifteen years on the buy side watching budgets disappear into inventory no-one could see properly. We built Picnic so the next fifteen don't have to."
Matt founded Picnic in 2017 because inventory quality was the one thing programmatic couldn't measure. The market was optimising on clicks, viewability and last-touch attribution. He believed quality was the true driver of campaign performance, and the data to prove it didn't exist yet.
PIQ exists to fix that. Independent inventory quality data, scored on every publisher on the Open Web, deeply integrated into the buying platforms that move budget.
